Dr James Beatty, originating from Cape Town, South Africa, is a skilled and compassionate ophthalmologist dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes in the field of ophthalmology. His professional journey is marked by a commitment to excellence, a passion for advancing in his field, and a profound impact on the lives of his patients and the community.

Dr Beatty began his medical journey at the prestigious University of Cape Town, completing his undergraduate studies in 1997. His passion for ophthalmology led him to further his education, earning a diploma in the field in 2002, followed by a Master of Medicine (MMed) degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2007.

His specialised training in Ophthalmology was undertaken at the University of Stellenbosch, starting in 2003. Dr Beatty’s dedication and perseverance in his training have equipped him with a comprehensive skill set in ophthalmology. He is an active member of various societies, including the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa, the South African Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Health Professions Council of South Africa, and the South African Glaucoma Society, demonstrating his commitment to staying informed on the latest advancements in his field.

Dr Beatty has professional interests in Cataract Surgery, Laser Surgery, and Glaucoma management, showcasing his expertise in providing comprehensive eye care solutions. Beyond his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, and engaging in mountain biking and hiking, reflecting his zest for life and diverse interests.
