Dr Daemon McClunan (Foreshore and Blauuwberg)

Dr Daemon McClunan is a pioneering figure in ophthalmic research, renowned for his groundbreaking work. As the youngest member of the South African Glaucoma Society committee, he has led the way in innovation. His achievements include founding LIQID MEDICAL Pty, a multi-award-winning ophthalmic biotechnology company, and inventing four patented devices. Dr McClunan’s dedication extends to humanitarian efforts, such as leading rural eye screenings across Southern Africa. Dr McClunan specialises in laser refractive surgery, advanced cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. His expertise is internationally recognised and Dr McClunan is an active member of the European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr James Beatty (Somerset West)

Dr James Beatty is an Ophthalmologist with qualifications in medicine and ophthalmology from the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University, including a Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and glaucoma management. His practice and affiliated hospitals use advanced technology in line with recognised standards of care. Specialising in cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration, Dr. Beatty offers comprehensive eye care services. He is affiliated with the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa and the South African Glaucoma Society and is committed to providing professional guidance and friendly assistance. With a focus on cataract and laser surgery, Dr. Beatty provides personalised care, supporting patients in achieving better eye health and vision.
